D-STAR has been developped under a unique combination of skills in data networking, digital communications, satellite access, and network management to provide a low cost, scalable next generation satellite networking product. D-STAR receives a broadband DVB outbound channel to 60 Mbps and provides a broadband satellite return channel with speeds up to 1.2 Mbps. The MF-TDMA broadband return channel provides efficient bandwidth on demand and has DVB-RCS compliant turbo coding for enhanced throughput performance.
 
 
D-STAR supports IP routing, IP multicasting, IP Quality of Service, and TCP spoofing for 10 Mbps of unicast throughput. D-STAR’s Web-based NMS is simple to operate, easy to configure, provides traffic statistics and call detail records, and offers an SNMP interface.
